Popsicles! Such a summer treat. And what better way to enjoy an ice pop than to make your own delicious, homemade, money saving variety? Popze Silicone Popsicle Molds are the perfect way to do just that!
Made from FDA approved, food-grade silicone, the 6 set of popsicle molds are 8 inches long and completely BPA free! Each mold includes a lid and is freezer and dishwasher safe.
Right out of the box, the bright colors of Popze’s popsicle molds are gorgeous! The set features 6 bright, bold colored varieties. Children will be drawn to the fun molds immediately! The silicone is soft, flexible, but still sturdy. Without being filled, they’re pliant enough to squeeze into drawers for easy storage.
I found the molds to be incredibly easy to clean and fill. The content of your popsicle mold is truly up to you! Weather you’d like to freeze a fruit smoothie, turn juice into a pop, or make a yogurt blend, the molds will freeze whatever concoction you make. Each mold holds about a half cup of liquid.
Freezing times vary depending on the consistency of the blended ingredients. I made two varieties of pureed fruits and placed in the freezer overnight. Once completely frozen, I did notice that I had to use a bit of arm strength to maneuver the frozen popsicles towards the top of the molds. They were held tightly in the silicone, and I needed to flex the bottom back and forth, and kneed at the silicone quite a bit to loosen it from the pop. Keep that in mind if you’re offering them to children. Immediately out of the freezer, little ones may find it difficult to slide the popsicle upward, and an adult will more than likely need to help.
I thought that the frozen popsicles looked amazing! There weren’t holes or bubbles throughout; they were solid and smooth. There was no “plastic” after-taste at all, and even offering them to my small children didn’t yield a mess! The silicone molds were very effective in containing the popsicle and its juices, leaving an easy cleanup.
Tips & Tricks that I Noticed:
● The lids lock in the liquid, but placing the molds in a freezer safe cup is an easy way to keep them up-right while freezing
● After freezing, loosen the pop by pulling gently at the silicone around the tip. Rotate the mold while tugging the silicone away from the iced pop to make it easier to push upward
● Freeze at least 8-12 hours. The 3 recommended hours wasn’t enough time for any of my mixtures.
All in all, the Popze Silicone Popsicle Mold Set is a wonderful accessory to create your own ice pops and cold treats. The set of 6 offers enough for multiple children to enjoy their own, and reusing each mold is eco-friendly and cost effective.
