The Veggie Slicer works by slicing vegetables pushed through it into spirals. It’s completely user-friendly, and doesn’t require any batteries or plug-ins. Simply twist your vegetable into the gadget, and watch as it creates thin spirals of the food through the bottom!

The blades on this slicer are sharp and sturdy. Both ends of it can be used for spiraling, with one side producing smaller noodles than the other. At only 5 inches tall, it’s very compact and can easily fit into a kitchen drawer. Along with the slicer, you’ll also receive a lid that’s used to push vegetables in, as well as a small cleaning brush.

I’m really infatuated with spiraling vegetables! Not only does it motivate my children to eat them, it also provides more options for creativity in the kitchen. I used a standard-sized raw carrot to spiral. It’s definitely easy to use, but I have to admit it takes arm work to twist multiple vegetables in one sitting. After twisting in the third carrot, I could feel a bit of strain in my wrist. Of course, this is to be expected in a manual device, but it’s something I’d still mention.

Depending on the texture of the food you’re using, different amounts of pressure would be applied to the slicer. I didn’t feel like I had to force the carrot through, but it was slightly stiffer to spiral than a softer food such as a zucchini. I didn’t need to use the lid to assist in twisting the vegetable through, but it comes in handy if you’re having a hard time maneuvering it.

The slicer really offers a variety in how you’ll prepare veggies. It’s a great way to offer vegan, gluten free, or paleo dishes. Cooked or raw, you’ll benefit from including more vegetables into your recipe.

All in all, The Veggie Slicer is a pretty straightforward little gaget. You’ll have fun finding new new tables to spiral and it definitely helps children who are picky eaters!
